Harley-Davidson’s new bike X350T has been spotted testing in India without any cover. The special thing is that his name is also clearly visible on the fuel tank of the bike. According to media reports, the company is gearing up to launch its popular X440T in a new form factor. For this, the engine capacity can be reduced to around 350 cc, so that the bike can benefit from the new GST rules. Bajaj Auto has also adopted a similar strategy in some of its bikes to take advantage of the tax.
Why is the engine running low?
According to the new GST 2.0 rules, motorcycles up to 350 cc attract 18 percent GST, while bikes with engines above 350 cc are taxed at 40 percent. In such a case, the price of the X440T can be kept cheaper by reducing the engine size of the X440T. Currently, the X440T has a 440 cc single-cylinder, air and oil-cooled engine. It delivers 27 bhp of power and 38 Nm of torque. It has a 6-speed gearbox. It is expected that the X350T will use the same platform, but the engine will be designed around 350cc.
A change will also be seen in the look
The X350T badging was spotted on the bike’s fuel tank revealed during testing. Apart from this, a new orange color and changed graphics are also seen. Talking about the design, its look can be similar to a roadster like X440T. It is expected to get round LED headlights, a muscular fuel tank and a wide handlebar.
How much power will it have and when will it be launched?
The official specifications of the X350T have not been released yet. However, some reports claim that its engine can churn out around 25 bhp of power and 35 Nm of torque. It can also get features like USD front fork, dual-channel ABS and TFT display. Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp are yet to announce its launch date. However, it is believed that this bike may come to the Indian market soon.
