Apple has now started earning from software development in the country. In the financial year 2026 (FY26), the company has generated revenue of Rs 650 crore through software development alone. The earnings came from the company’s recently formed subsidiary ‘Apple Operations India’. With this move, it is clear that Apple is now moving beyond local manufacturing in India and stepping into global support operations along with technology research and development.

The new unit changed the entire earnings picture

Apple Inc.’s direct subsidiary ‘Apple Operations India’ started its commercial operations in the financial year 2025 (FY25). Apart from manufacturing support, procurement support, this new company also provides global support services to other Apple Group companies. The latest documents submitted to the Registrar of Companies (ROC) show that the company’s operations have grown exponentially. In FY 2026, manufacturing support revenue almost doubled to Rs 520 crore. A year ago, i.e. in the financial year 2025, this figure was Rs 282 crore.

A four-fold jump in profits

As per a filing with the Registrar of Companies, due to all these functions, the total revenue of Apple operations India in FY 2026 will be Rs. 1,400 crore was crossed. In the last financial year (FY25), the company’s total revenue was just Rs. 318 crores. Along with the earnings, the profit of the company has also increased tremendously. Within a year, the company’s net profit nearly quadrupled to Rs. 103 crores, which last year was only Rs. 28 crores. Mohit Yadav, founder of business intelligence firm AltInfo, has given his opinion on this growth. He says that this increase in revenue for Apple operations India is not just a simple expansion or production, but it represents a major change in Apple’s operations in India.

A company towards becoming a global engineering hub

In fiscal 2025, the company’s revenue from project-management services along with software development was nil. But in FY2026, both these segments have emerged as major money earners. According to Mohit, this change shows that the role of Indian operations in Apple’s global ecosystem is now becoming bigger. These transactions indicate that Apple is gearing up its Indian unit as a support hub with a large global engineering base. The filing data shows that about 97 percent of the business of Apple’s India operations was done for Apple’s global operations. In addition to Apple Operations International, Apple Inc.
