UPI: CBSE has advised adoption of Universal Acceptance Infrastructure (UPI) for school fees, canteen, library and other services. CBSE has asked schools to allow digital payments including UPI and Ru-Pay cards at all payment touch-points for fee payment. In areas with low connectivity, schools have been advised to provide UPI Lite, UPI LiteX and UPI 123PAY facilities.

BBPS Integration for Fee Payment: Schools have also been advised to connect with the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) facility for standard, secure and interoperable fee collection. Schools are told they can integrate with ERP systems to facilitate recurring payments such as school staff salaries.

Awareness and Digital Literacy: CBSE has said that awareness about digital payments should be included in school teacher training programs and school-level campaigns. Along with this, awareness campaigns can be conducted for parents to promote safe and convenient use.
