New employment opportunities are expected to arise in India amidst the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) and new technologies. According to a report, job demand in sectors like textiles, logistics, clean energy, automotive and telecom may increase in the coming years. It is expected that by the year 2030, millions of employment opportunities will be created in these areas. About 2 crore new jobs are expected to be created in the textile and apparel sector. In such a situation, it will be necessary for youth preparing for jobs to develop technical knowledge and practical skills along with their studies.
Jobs in these sectors will increase by 2030
According to IDA, it is necessary to train the youth according to the needs of the industry to increase employment. The report mentions employment opportunities in several sectors.
How many jobs are expected to be provided?
2 crore new jobs are estimated to be created in the textile and apparel sector. At the same time, around 47 lakh new jobs can be found in the logistics sector, over 44 lakh in clean energy and 20 to 25 lakh new jobs in the automotive and electric vehicle (EV) sector. The telecom sector has a potential of 10 lakh new jobs, 2 crore in textiles, 47 lakh in logistics and more than 44 lakh in clean energy.
20 to 25 lakh direct employment opportunities can also be created in the automotive and electric vehicle (EV) industry. Around one million new jobs are expected in the telecom sector.
The job requires skills as well as a degree.
A degree alone is not enough in a changing job market. Companies may prefer such candidates who have practical work experience along with book knowledge. For this reason, skill development, practical training and collaboration of educational institutions with industries has become necessary.
Focus on internships and practical experience
Youngsters who are preparing to build a career should also pay attention to the training, internships and industry exposure available there while choosing a college. Live projects and hands-on training give students an opportunity to understand real working conditions.
Apart from this, youth should keep learning about new technology and changes related to AI. With the right skills and practical experience, they can better take advantage of emerging employment opportunities in the future.
