There is a relief news for candidates preparing for UP PCS 2026. Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has increased the number of posts for PCS recruitment. The advertisement released in June had given information on the recruitment of 500 posts, but now the number has increased to 728 after finding vacancies from different departments. That means 228 more posts have been added in this recruitment. The special thing is that the vacancy figures are not yet final. The new vacancies available till the declaration of prelims result can also be included in this recruitment.
The number of posts increased from 500 to 728
UPPSC released advertisement for PCS-2026 recruitment on June 25 and announced 500 posts. After this, different departments sent information of vacancies to the commission. After inclusion of this post the total number of vacancies has increased to 728. This has increased the opportunities for candidates preparing for PCS. The Commission may still get information about vacancies from more departments.
Maximum Posts in Secondary Education Department
According to the information received, there are 158 posts of principal in the secondary education department. There are 41 vacancies for Assistant District School Inspector, Deputy Secretary Secondary Education Council, District School Inspector and equivalent posts. 122 posts of Senior Lecturer have been included in DIET of Basic Education Department.
There are 74 posts of Child Development Project Officer and 58 posts of Assistant District Employment Assistance Officer. There will also be recruitment for 33 posts of Deputy Collector.
Vacancies in these departments also
Urban Development Department has 26 posts of Assistant Municipal Commissioner/Executive Officer Category-II and nine posts of Accounts and Finance Officer. This includes 56 posts of Assistant Commissioner (Industries), 16 posts of Labor Enforcement Officer, 17 posts of Food Safety Officer and 14 posts of Excise Inspector.
There are 28 posts of Secretary Category-II, seven posts of Accounts and Adjustment Officer and two posts of Marketing Officer in State Agricultural Produce Market Parishad. There are five posts of Administrator in Finance Department and eight posts in Secretariat Administration.

There are 13 posts of District Social Welfare Officer and equivalent in Social Welfare Department. There are seven posts of District Probation Officer. There are four posts each of District Supply Officer, District Commandant Home Guard and Assistant Commissioner (Khadi and Village Industries). There are two posts of Zilla Panchayat Raj Adhikari.
Apart from this, one post each of District Program Officer, Assistant Controller Law Measures, Special Officer Computer, Assistant Prosecution Officer and District Minority Welfare Officer is also included. Preliminary examination of PCS-2026 is proposed in December.
