DRDO Apprentice 2026: If you want to work with Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), this is a great opportunity. DRDO has released the notification of Apprentice 2026. With this the application process for apprentices has started. Last date to apply is 13 October. For DRDO apprentices, only Industrial Training Institute (ITI) pass is for youth. ITI applications are invited from candidates of various trades. Candidates selected in Apprentice will be given a stipend of up to Rs 1.20 lakh.

Apprentice in DIPR of DRDO, 12 months training

Delhi-based Defense Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR) of Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has invited applications for Apprenticeship. Candidates selected for apprenticeship will be given 12 months training. Training period cannot be extended. Therefore, after completion of training i.e. Apprenticeship period, no candidate can claim for permanent job.

Apprentice to this trade

As per Apprentice notification issued by DRDO, applications are invited for Apprentices in total 7 trades, under which DRDO includes Photographer, Steward, Desk Top Publishing Operator, Secretarial Assistant, Photographer, COPA, IT/IT ESM, Multi Media Web Page Designer.

How will the selection be done, how much will be the stipend?

Let’s talk about the prescribed selection process for DRDO Apprentice. As per the published notification, the eligible candidates will be selected on the basis of merit from the applications received. For example, candidates will be selected without a written test. Merit will be prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidates in ITI. After this, the interview round or not will depend on the number of applicants. Category wise final merit list will be released.

Talking about fixed stipend, trade wise stipend is to be given. IT/IT ESM and Photographer trade candidates will get Rs. 10,560 is given a stipend, while candidates of all other trades get Rs. 9600 stipend is given. This stipend can be given for 12 months.

Who can apply and till when

Candidates who have obtained ITI certificate in relevant trade can apply for DRDO Apprenticeship. Before applying, candidates have to register on the Apprenticeship Portal. No application will be considered without this. Applications can be made through the Apprenticeship Portal. Last date to apply is 13 October.
