The company has started rolling out several new features for Google Photos users. With these new tools, it will be easier than ever to edit photos, arrange them and give new styles to photos with the help of AI. The new update includes an upgraded markup tool, redact pen, moods and new remix templates.

Apart from this, Google is expanding its AI-powered wardrobe feature to more users. At the same time, Gemini Spark has also been linked to Google Photos. With it, the user can find photos of his choice, adjust their brightness and make them ready to share just by giving a command. These new features are being rolled out across different tools and regions on Android and iOS.

Google Photos comes with a new redact tool

Google has started the global rollout of a new markup tool for Android users. It now has a redact pane, which can be used to blur sensitive or personal information present in a photo.

The thickness of this pen can also be changed as per your requirement. That is, thin lines can be used if small details are to be hidden in the photo and thick lines can be used if more area is to be covered. Apart from this some new fonts have also been added for writing text on photos.

The mood will give the photo a vintage look

Google Photos has also added a new feature called Moods. With the help of AI, it can give photos a different vintage camera and film style look. Users will be able to make their photos look like 35mm film, digital cameras from the 2000s or other vintage formats. The special thing is that the intensity of these effects can be increased or decreased with the help of sliders. With the help of this, the user can set the final look of the photo as per his choice.

15 new remix templates also arrived

The new Google Photos update also adds 15 new remix templates for Android and iOS. However, this feature is currently being made available in select countries. With the help of these templates, photos can be transformed into different styles like a red carpet style image, a birthday card or a photo booth shot. Only users over the age of 18 can use Remix Templates.

An AI wardrobe will create a digital collection of clothes

Google has also expanded the scope of its AI-powered wardrobe feature. The feature is now available for eligible Android and iOS users in the US, India and Brazil.

The Wardrobe feature can identify clothes seen in photos and create a digital collection of them. After this the user can create new combinations by looking at different clothes. Along with this, there is also the option of virtual styling and trying out new looks. Google says wardrobe-related data is not shared with retailers or other third-party companies.

Gemini Spark will now work with Google Photos

Google has also started connecting Gemini Spark with Google Photos. This feature can especially help in selecting a photo and getting it ready for sharing.

For example, a user can find suitable photos for a family portrait, adjust their brightness and then prepare them to share with one command. This feature is currently available to eligible Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US.

Who will get these new features?

The availability of new features is not the same everywhere. The redact tool and mood are being rolled out on Android, while remix templates are available on Android and iOS in select countries.

The wardrobe feature is being rolled out to eligible users in the US, India and Brazil. This integration of Gemini Spark and Google Photos is currently limited to eligible Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the US.
