Delhi Government’s Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) has launched a new mobile app called Delhi Liquor Booking. With its help you can pre-book the liquor of your choice and also make online payment. That means you get the option to choose your favorite brand before reaching the store.
However, this does not mean that alcohol will be delivered directly to your home. Even after booking online you have to visit the shop in person to collect the bottle. Customers will have to collect the liquor by showing the QR code received from the selected shop within 48 hours after payment. The app aims to reduce congestion at shops and relieve customers from time spent shopping. Apart from this, this feature can also help in keeping the bill and price related information clean.
Liquor has to be bought from the shop within 48 hours
People who buy liquor with this app have to keep one important thing in mind. Booking and payment can be done online, but there will be no home delivery of liquor. To complete the order, the customer has to personally visit the selected DSIDC shop.
After payment, a special QR code will be available in the app. After reaching the shop, the customer has to show this code, so that the bottle can be given after checking the booking. For this, you will get 48 hours after booking. If the liquor is not collected within the stipulated time, the order may be cancelled. So, before booking, it is important to check whether you will be able to reach the shop on time or not.
How will liquor be booked on the app?
Through the Delhi Liquor Booking app, customers can view information about liquor available at their nearest shops. This can make it easier to choose your favorite brand. Online payment has to be done after selecting the brand. After the payment is completed, a QR code will be generated, which can be shown at the shop counter and the order can be taken.
Initially, around 208 DSIIDC retail stores in Delhi have been connected to this system. In such a case, before using the app, it is necessary to check whether your preferred liquor is available at the selected shop or not. Also the address of the shop and the time to reach there should also be checked.
Age and quantity rules for purchasing alcohol
Not every age group can use this app. As per the rules related to purchase of liquor in Delhi, minimum age of 25 years is required to register and make bookings on the app.
A limit has also been fixed on the quantity of purchase. According to the information provided, a user can book a maximum of 9 liters of whiskey or other spirits and 18 liters of beer through the app. So, before ordering, keep in mind your requirement and set limit.
An option to cancel the order will also be available
If the customer changes his mind before collecting liquor from the shop, the option to cancel the order will be available on the app. But once the bottle is taken from the shop or the sale is completed it cannot be returned. So, it is better to check the brand, quantity and order information carefully before making the payment.
Currently, customers using Android phones can download Delhi Liquor Booking App from Google Play Store. Overall, this feature can be useful for those who want to book their liquor of choice in advance instead of standing in line at the shop.
