The Yogi government has taken a major initiative to provide skill training and better employment opportunities to the youth in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Skill Training and Employment Sector Development Scheme. 1725 crore rupees will be spent on this scheme. Under this there is a plan to develop skill and employment zones in all 75 districts of the state. In the first phase it will start from five districts. Through these centres, emphasis will be placed on training the youth according to their employment needs and connecting them with job opportunities.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the scheme on October 31 on the occasion of the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. A total budget of 1725 crore rupees has been fixed for this scheme. Its main objective is to teach the youth such skills, which are in demand in companies and industries. Government is trying to increase employability of youth through training.
Skill and Employment Zones will be created in the first five districts
This plan will be implemented in phases. Initially, skill and employment zones will be established in five districts of Uttar Pradesh. After this, there are plans to extend the scheme to all 75 districts of the state. With the creation of these centres, youth can get an opportunity to get skill training in their own district or nearby areas. This may also reduce the need for them to travel to other cities for training. However, the names of the five districts included in the first phase and the date of opening of the centers have not been disclosed yet.
Youth will get training
Under this scheme, emphasis will be placed on training the youth according to market and industry requirements. It aims not only to provide training but also to equip the youth with the necessary skills for employment. For this, coordination between training institutes and companies will be important.
Will I get job after training or not?
An important question related to the scheme is how the youth will get jobs after completing the training. At present, the government has not issued guidelines regarding job guarantee, participation of companies, available courses and selection process. The actual benefit of the scheme will depend on how training is linked to employment opportunities.
Will expand to all 75 districts
The government plans to develop the skill and employment sector across the state, starting with five districts. It can provide skill development opportunities to youth from various sectors.
