BMW Motorrad has launched its new adventure bike F 450 GS Sport in India. Its ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 5.90 lakh. This variant will take its place among the exclusive and most expensive GS Trophy models of the F 450 GS. The company has added some features to it, which will be useful for the bikers on bad roads and off-roading. These include Sport Suspension, Gear Shift Assistant Pro and Riding Modes Pro. The bike is also presented in racing red color. With this new model, the F 450 GS can now be bought in a total of four variants.
These special features will be available in the Sport variant
In the new F 450 GS Sport, the most attention has been given to its sport suspension. It is designed in such a way that the rider can have better control while riding the bike on rough roads. Along with this, Gear Shift Assistant Pro has also been provided. With this feature, gears can be changed without depressing the clutch, making the ride smoother. Along with Riding Modes Pro, Enduro Pro mode is also available in the bike. This is especially useful during off-roading and helps the bike handle different types of terrain.
What is special about the design?
Talking about the design, the look of the F 450 GS Sport has been kept the same as the other variants. However, the racing red color gives it a distinct identity. It has X-shape LED headlamps, adventure bike-like front beak and upright riding position.
It features a clear rally windscreen for wind protection during long rides. Apart from this, features like black handguard, off-road footpegs and plastic engine guard are also available, these things make the bike more useful for adventure riding.
How different is the Sport variant from the GS Trophy?
BMW initially launched the F 450 GS in base, Exclusive and GS Trophy variants. Now with the addition of the Sport model, customers have four options. The Sport gets Sport Drop and riding modes Pro like the GS Trophy. But there is an important difference between the two. The GS Trophy gets an easy ride clutch system, while the Sport variant gets a normal clutch.
Engine and price
The BMW F 450 GS Sport is powered by a 420cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. It generates 48bhp of power and 43Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Its ex-showroom price in India is Rs 5.90 lakh. It is Rs 25,000 cheaper than the GS Trophy variant. With the arrival of the new Sport model, customers can now choose a variant of the F 450 GS as per their requirement and budget.
