Tesla has introduced a new Halloween mode for its electric SUVs Model Y and Model L in India. This feature can give a scary and funny look to the car. The company has released it on 30 October 2026 via OTA i.e. over-the-air software update. This means that car owners will not need to visit a service center to use the new features.
This update brings options like ghost themed in-app avatar, special lighting effects, scary sounds, photobooth and voice messages. Customers can also find these features at Tesla Experience Centers in Noida, Delhi, Gurugram, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Mumbai.
A ghost costume will give you a ghostly look
Halloween mode has a feature called Ghost Costume. This makes the car avatar look like a ghost in the Tesla app. Its design resembles a ghost made of white sheets, with space for eyes. However, the company has not yet clarified whether this avatar will also appear on the car’s touchscreen or not.
Scary sounds will play in trick or treat mode
When this mode is activated, when someone approaches the car, scary sounds will be heard from the car and the lights will start flashing. With this, a Halloween-like atmosphere can be created around the car.
Light show and scary folk sounds
The update also includes a new Halloween-themed light show. Apart from this, there is also a special seasonal wrap for the car and a scary sound when locking. These features give the car a distinct style.
Photobooth and voice messages are also special
Users will be able to sit inside the Model Y and take Halloween-themed photos. Voice messages can be sent via the Voice from Beyond feature from the Tesla app. The car will play this message in a scary voice.
