A report has to be submitted to the Nilekani Task Force by January 2027
After the issue of NEET UG 2026 paper leak came to light, efforts to change NEET UG started. The Prime Minister has constituted a 6-member task force or committee headed by Nandan Nilekani for examination reform. This committee has started its work. In this category, the committee has so far received more than 50,000 suggestions regarding examination reforms from students, parents, teachers, educational institutions, subject experts, industry bodies and examination conducting agencies.
Earlier this committee was supposed to submit its report by October 2026, but now this committee has been given time till January 2027. The committee will submit its report by January 2027. This information has emerged from the affidavit filed by the Central Government in the Supreme Court recently.
NEET UG 2027 will be held in CBT mode, committee suggestions are important
After the issue of NEET UG 2026 paper leak came to light, efforts have started to change it. In this series, the Union Ministry of Education announced that NEET UG 2027 will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Even after this, it has been announced several times that NEET UG 2027 will be conducted in CBT mode. Preparations for NTA are also underway in this regard. Earlier, Nandan Nilekani had already sent suggestions from a public forum to create NEET UG paper using AI and print the paper in the exam hall itself. After this, it is believed that Nandan Nilekani Committee is preparing the outline to conduct NEET UG 2027 in CBT mode.
Why NEET UG 2027 schedule will be announced in February?
The Nandan Nilekani Committee was earlier supposed to submit its report in October 2027, but now the committee has to submit its report by January 2027. It is believed that this report will contain the outline for conducting NEET UG 2027 in CBT mode, which will be implemented by NTA as a trial. In such a situation the report of the committee is important. Only after this the schedule of NEET UG 2027 will be released. Since NEET UG is being conducted in CBT mode, the exam will be conducted over several days, the schedule of which will largely depend on the recommendations of the committee.
