The incident on the flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv caught the attention of the people of the world. Captain Smit Machar of Flight FZ1073 is an Indian citizen. While the flight was in the air, an altercation broke out between the two pilots and the Omani pilot attacked the Indian pilot with a knife and tried to crash the plane. Now the clip of Smit Machar’s old interview is going viral on social media. In which it has been said that if there is a flight in the air, how can a passenger be helped in case of any medical emergency during the flight.
In the video, Machar said, “When we are in the air and something happens, who will save you?” He said it’s great to have a doctor on board, but the flight crew can also provide lifesaving assistance. He said in the interview that the crew’s ability to help is most important when a normal flight turns into an emergency. In this conversation, his aviation career and his work mentoring new pilots were discussed.

Fly’s plane was diverted to Tabuk airport after an argument between the pilots during the flight. According to Israeli officials, the co-pilot stabbed the captain and tried to crash the plane, after which passengers and other pilots on board had to intervene. Machar is basically Gujarati. He joined flydubai in June 2022 as a direct-entry captain. Prior to this he spent nearly 11 years with SpiceJet. He worked here from June 2011 to 2022.

Despite extremely dangerous conditions and being seriously injured, he showed tremendous courage and unwavering determination to save the lives of others. His bravery saved hundreds of lives and averted a major tragedy. India is proud of Captain Machar. We pray for his speedy recovery and good health.”
