Five people were arrested on Sunday (September 27) near an air base of the Royal Air Force (British Air Force) in a village in Britain. It is believed that these people were planning to carry out terrorist activities. This incident created a commotion. Currently, the country’s anti-terrorist police have started investigating the case. Meanwhile, the statement of American President Donald Trump has come to light. He has described this action as brilliant.
During Trump’s visit to Chicago, President Donald Trump claimed that the five people arrested were plotting a larger plot against a British base housing American troops and aircraft. He said, ‘The arrests in Britain were brilliant. It was a great experience working with Britain. We were investigating them. They were trying to inflict heavy damage on our fort, and working together with the British proved very effective. He said, ‘We have been keeping an eye on him for a long time and finally we caught him’.
Police arrested 5 suspects
The Metropolitan Police said the local police unit received a call at 12:45am about three suspicious vehicles heading towards RAF Fairford in south-west England, prompting armed police officers to arrive at the scene. According to police, five suspects were arrested in the Welford area of Gloucestershire on suspicion of conspiracy to commit an offense under the Explosives Act and the Terrorism Act. “Counter-terrorism police can now confirm that they are investigating an incident which took place overnight near RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire,” police said in a statement.
All the five suspects are being interrogated
Vicky Evans, senior national co-ordinator of counter-terrorism police, said the investigation into the case was in its early stages and five people were being questioned in custody. He said: ‘As you would expect, we are working closely with our partners to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. We are co-ordinating with Gloucestershire Police to collect evidence from the scene and to keep the community safe.
85 houses were evacuated
He said, ‘A cordon of 400 meters has been set up around the suspicious vehicles and the Explosive Disposal Unit of the army is probing them. About 85 homes have been evacuated as a precaution during the investigation.
Earlier, Gloucestershire Police announced a major incident had been foiled and said the British Army had sent its bomb disposal squad to the scene. Assistant Chief Constable Richard Okon of the police force appealed to the public not to speculate and to monitor official channels for information.

He said that a large number of US Air Force personnel and resources are present at this airbase.
